David Sanchez & Eduardo Chavez

David and Eduardo have been foster parents with OSWFFA for over two years. They exemplify how the love of a family can change the life of a child and of the foster parents. The adoption of their son, who they fostered, was finalized this year. Congratulations David, Eduardo, and Kal-El!
"I was happy before. I’ve always been happy my whole life. This is a different kind of happiness and I wouldn’t change it for anything!" - David Sanchez
Angelica has been a foster parent with OSWFFA for over five years. She and her family have welcomed over twenty children into their home and provided them with the loving care of a family until the children were able to be reunited with their birth families.
"Whatever they need we are here to help them out and we participate with them. If they have a (school) event, then we come to their events. These are good memories for them. If it is important for them, it should be important for us." - Angelica Prado
Laura has been a loving and dedicated foster parent at OSWFFA for over 7 years. She loves and cares for the children placed in her home as if they are her own. Likewise, she develops positive working relationships with the children's birth families, which is critical in helping the families transition and grow. Below is an excerpt of a letter written by the grandparents of one of her foster children, acknowledging Laura's wonderful care:
"Laura provided a warm, safe, loving home for our grandson when he was placed by Child Protective Services. (The county social worker) made the arrangements so that Laura could contact us, and have (him) talk to us on the phone. That was such a major event for (us); to hear his voice, to know that he was OK, and not crying and upset. Laura's kindness to us was truly a heartfelt experience. The 'terror' of not knowing where or how your grand child is doing has no comparison. Your efforts and Laura's compassion made it tolerable. Please share with Laura's supervisor(s) our gratitude for her outstanding care, love and kindness. She did a terrific job and we SO appreciate her efforts. Laura is a great addition to the Foster Care system, and should be recognized for her efforts."
